After the sauna, the lake.

Felted wool sauna hats. Soft, slow, made to keep the heat off your head.

how it's made

from wool to felt, from felt to hat.

Hands pulling thin fibres of wool

first step

wool

We start with natural wool and pull it into thin layers.

Felt samples in different colours

second step

felt

With water, soap and hands, the wool becomes dense, soft felt.

Folded wool blankets

third step

hat

We shape the felt into a hat that sits well and keeps the heat off your head.

why wool

your head stays cool, you stay longer.

Wool conducts heat slowly and feels soft on the skin. So the hat protects your head in the sauna, and you can stay in the warmth a little longer.

Then out to the lake, and the hat stays on the bench.

our story

named after my grandmother Rozalija.

WOLNA sounds like volna, the Slovene word for wool. It began as a tribute to my grandmother Rozalija, who everyone called Rozika.

I want to make hats that are simple, warm and easy to take with you.
